    Thanks

This looks like it will do the job, mentions G12, what does that mean?

G12 just means the standard it conforms to, there's also g12+ and g13, a 1.9 will have been filled with g12 originally so it'll be fine, if you're unsure what's in it you could always flush it and refill with g12 (what I did), mix is 50/50 I think (or at least that's what I mixed it to in Glasgow where it's b0l0x freezing much of the year.

    Thanks guys

I took a look and draining seems to be a faff.

What is the minimum i need to do to drain the system, is it a case of being able to remove the engine tray and pulling a bottom hose - or do i need to pull the front bumper into service mode? I saw on a video that the oil cooler is removed to provide access to a red tap... seems like a huge pain. Is this what is needed?

Also, how do i bleed the system of air?

Draining- under tray off, either rad bottom hose off or use red drain screw at bottom left corner (left from drivers PoV), squeeze all hoses etc while draining. Not sure if this is accessible as I've only used it when bumper is off and my car has no under tray.
Flushing- bottom hose off, can't remember where I put hose for flushing, think I had thermostat out at the time. Prob from coolant reservoir hose and maybe heater inlets to get into waterways in block.
    Filling/bleeding-
Remove mounting screw from coolant reservoir and raise it 100mm-ish, wedge in position with block of wood or something. Loosen clamp and pull out heater hose with tiny hole in it (next to battery/brake servo),until
coolant/air can get out of hole. Fill system slowly (while squeezing all hoses to expel air) until coolant weeps from hole. Push heater hose back on, tighten clamp, coolant resevior back in place. Run it for a bit then re-check coolant level. Check heater works on hot etc.

Hope that helps. Took me ages to get all air out first time.

Ps no need to remove oil cooler, pas fluid cooling lines maybe need to be removed from rad to get to drain screw (2 little torx screws iirc)

I thought you could add G12+ to G12 so just go and get some from your automotive place.
