    Hi Guys,
I have just replaced my sump, with an aftermarket part due to sump plug threads stripped. Unfortunatly I now have an oil leak from the rear area. This leak was NOT there previously. So I have removed it again and resealed and torqued, but leak still there The oil is dripping off the cover plate between the engine and gearbox casing at the rear of the engine. I cannot see were the leak is coming from Has anybody had similar ??? Thanks in advance, Med

I haven't done it myself on that engine but I've heard you have to carefully guide the sump onto a couple of studs so as not to break the sealant bead and use the proper vw sealant.
