Diagnostic connections !!!

Hi,

I hope this is the right place to put this. ( I think that I have added it to another area aswell...Sorry )

I have a 2002 2.8 v6 4motion passat ( beautiful car ). I am sick of being ripped off for £30 every time I go to the garage so I have decided to link it into my computer. I have downloaded the software from some chap in USA that is the same as the one that the garage uses and now I need to know what cable to purchase so that I can connect it. I have looked under the steering wheel and found the connector. It is pink and seems to have two lugs on the bottom edges. I have taken a photograph but it is rubbish. I could do with some advice please. I have added the link to the cable that I am led to believe will work but I haven't got a clue.

the first lead looks identical to the one I have, the second I think is the one mel is having a few issues with.

Eshrules(Carl) sell them and they definitely work.

Yes the one in the link will work with Vag-com v409.1

Thats great thanks. I really appreciate that as I have been batted from pillar to post by the garages to try and find out the connection specific to my vehicle. VW aren't the most approachable of people or is it just the idiots that they seem to employ nowadays ... Anyway, Thanks once again.
