16395 error on vagcom

Hi there guys. I have a gti mk4 aum engine code, from 2002, and a couole days ago i got the engine check light, so i connected vcds to see what was the fault and got this error: 16395 - bank 1 camshaft a (intake) retard setpoint not reached (overachieved) and it says it might have something to do with the fuel pump relay, camshaft mechanical valve (n205) or timming belt. The car feels ok driving, starts right away and i dont really feel anythinf weird. Any ideas? Thanks beforehand guys!

Thanks dannyboy1987! It was worth reading, and hopefully i will be able to isolate what the problem is. I think its just the sensor broke, and hopefully by replacing it it will be fine, but lets see... Thanks pal!

👍no problem hopefully u manage to sort it. Post something once uv sorted it I'll be interested to know what it is because I have a AUM as well.

Hi there again dannyboy1987. Well, so far, after clearing the error a few days ago everything is fine, no light on the dash/cluster, no error on vcds and car, as before, runs fine. Anyway, ill tell my mechanic to check the timing belt and camshaft just in case, as I have to replace the front silentblocks and rubber thing (cant remember the name in english ) on top of the front suspension, as i have a clonk/squeaky sound. Yeah, lets see. Bad thing is my girlfriends ibiza 6l broke the belt almost stopped, heard a bang and wouldn't start again (witth wires it did, but of course no movement) so lets see how many €€€ :'( thanks pal
