    Hi Everyone,

    I have an Audi A4 2006 Automatic.

Today in the motorway I noticed that randomly the accelaration is lost. That is, I pushed the gas, the egine goes up to 4000rpm but speed did not change. Then suddenly it bacame normal and car was speeding. This happened randomly without any regular pattern.

I stopped the car and started it again. This time two new things happened: engine light or Emission Control System light turned and stayed on and also I can hear a weird noise randomly from the bonnet.

PS: The oil light became on about 3 months ago and I added 0.5L oil. After about 2,000 miles it became on again this mornign before the journey and I added another half litre. I drove about 40 miles with no issue.

I am going to call the mechanic tomorrow but to avoid unnecessary costs, anyone has any clue about what is the problem?

    Thanks

No point in guessing until a fault code scan has been done on the car. Could be anything on a modern car.

    EGR Flow CKT

Check your oil level first, then get your codes read.

You mean all these issues may be due to oil? I added a half liter this morning and the level was fine then.

If you've checked the level that's fine - oil light coming on its not good but if you have avoided damage fair enough.

Seems like it's a problem with the EGR valve position/position sensor.
