COST? knocking sound when car in motion and almost full lock on steering

Getting a knocking sound when car in motion and almost full lock on steering, think it is the left side, any idea of the repair cost for this?

Just had the shock replaced on that side hope the garage never caused this latest fault.

cv joint, about 100 quid. no, garage didn't cause it.

Get the garage to check the fitting of the shock and check the drive shaft bolt. Regards Peter

At last MOT were there any advisories, I had one for CV joint although there was no play, looking at it on ramps it's clearly being stressed and not the same as passenger side.

mechanic said it was not CV joints as noise not consistent. Too busy to put it on ramps today, on the test drive they felt nothing.

I sometimes get judder through steering wheel when doing 3 point turns on smooth but sloping areas (street gutters/cambers).

Any advice appreciated.

What's the state of your front tyres like?

both newish, fitted as pair in april when shock was replaced. Is it possible with one wheel on gravel and one on clean tarmac that the steering could judder when going full lock right to left stopped in one position on road IE a 3 point turn?

Yes, or in my case wet leaves or a manhole cover.

Appreciate also morning temps now below 10 degrees so summer rubber has less grip...my winter set due on next week!

What brand of rubber...I've Michy PSS which are very impressive, am thinking a lesser tyre will be worse.
