    Hello All

    2.0 Tdi B7 , 2005 Avant (s line)

Wonder if you can help - I have tried googling this but cant find anything specific to the B7 , yr 2005.

My rear washer jet doesn't pass water onto the rear screen, and the interior of my rear screen has started to get condensation now the temps are falling a bit the last week or so. Are the two connected? I am guessing so. Perhaps water leaking from rear washer jet hoses is collecting and causing the damp?

So my question is can anyone direct me how to access the rear washer jet hoses or bits that could possibly cause a leak at the rear and cause rear window condensation?

    Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Regards
    Simon

Could be one of two issues. If you've tried to use the rear washer jet while the car is frozen, you may have popped the connecting water tube off. It gets to the hatch door via the driver's side. Open cubby hole access panel in boot on right and feel if it's wet. The pipe runs above and connects to the tailgate at the hinge.

The most likely explanation is the rear washer jet (brass pipe) has sheared, and every time you use it it sprays waters onto the electrics and wiper motor which also fails. Remove tailgate interior trim to access. VAG do offer kit to replace the pipe but it's damned expensive. I'd replace entire motor with used part. If it's not beyond saving, then you can fix yourself.

To rule out its not the water reservoir motor, try the front screen washers. If they fail too you need to access the reservoir via passenger side front wheel arch liner. I'd personally glue the pipe connections, as these are prone to popping apart.
