    Hi Guys

I have an Audi A6 2006 TDI Auto

The shifter is stuck in Park and cannot disengadge it? Can someone help me with this? I cannot do a scan also because when I try to connect to the OBD2 is give me no communication and power only, I have tried VCDS and a cheap standalone diagnostic reader which powers up and no communications also?

    Please help

Read your manual, there is a procedure in there.

    Hi

All brakes are perfect, all electionics working.

I have noticed the Gear selector on the dash is not displaying the gear selected. It should be displaying P but nothing is highlighted

I have pressed the override button under the front ashtray compartment to allow me to more the gear level. Even when I put it in N or D again the gear selection display on the dash is not displaying the gear i'm in?

I had a car auto electicion come and go a code read which on his advanced diagnostic system connected fine and did a full code read.

I have the follow codes which came out

    17090 - Transmission Range Sensor F125 - Implausible Signal : P0706
    01119 - Gear Recognition Signal
    6275 - Park/Neutral Switch

    Suggestions please?

    UPDATE:

The OBD2 issue was down to my cable being old and only picking up card up to 2004

Clearing the fault codes sorts everything out, the dash displays P highlighted and selecting a gear is no problem, BUT when I turn off the car and take key out and put it back and turn the key it's back to displaying no gears and stuck in park?

Presume if you clear the fault you can do the same again? Sounds to me like the switch is definitely at fault

On my multitronic gearbox the transmission the ECU and gear switch is one unit.

Issue was Transmission ECU. Got it repaired by specialist costing £200 with warranty. All working now.
