Before you start anything have you got VCDS as you'll need it.

hi, yes I have VCDS, and its the 6 speed manual gearbox, don't know what gearbox code is it on the label in the service book/trunk ?

sorry but can you confirm the oil for both rear diff and gearbox are the same 75w 90 fully synthetic ?

gearbox code is KMU & rear final drive is JKQ?

Any help to confirm the detail above would be really appreciated - Nice one.

VAG don’t specify what it is but the transmission fluid shown for the type 0B4 KMU code box and its integral front and centre differentials is G 052 911 A1 or A2 (3.8 Litres dry capacity) which Febi specify as being

API GL-5, MIL-L-2105 D, MTF LT-2, MTF LT-3, SAE 75W-80, Yellow, Oil Viscosity Classification SAE: 75W-80 for manual transmission

The rear differential type 0BC code JKQ oil is listed as G 052 145 S2 or A1. And is described by Febi as

GL-5, SAE 75 W 90, SAE 75W-90, VW 501.50, Yellow, for manual gearbox and rear axle differential

The gearbox oil filter plug is on the left side of the gearbox directly below the clutch slave cylinder.
