Hi, my right electronic sliding door has stopped working, well almost. It can close almost normally but does not "seal" the door like it supposed to. After the door is closed it normally should pull tighter to seal it perfectly.
But I can not open the door electronically, when i push the dashboard button, exterior handle or via remote, it makes a sound like it want to open but does nothing other then just pop the door an inch out of the frame. If I sit on the inside and pull the inner handle on the door, it will open up a bit more, all the way until it has finished travelling outwards and should start sliding. I think that is some sort of fail safe so you can manually slide it open, but it is heavy as hell to slide.

I can not find out what fuse is for the sliding doors, the manual says nothing and is in german.. I do understand a little german but not enough to go into deep reading.
Is it possible to "reset" the system/software that operates the doors?

Any thoughts on what might be faulty? I guess I will pay VW a visit tomorrow but would like to have tried a bit myself before to se if this can be solved.

    best regards
    Runi.

Sounds like the motor is on its way out

You could maybe swap over the motors from one door to the other to test

You could maybe get a recon unit for a lot less than VW will charge

Check the track as well for stones etc which will stop movement or wheels that move in the track are not seized

    Hi Niall

Iīve tjeck all the tracks, upper and lower and its clinically clean, the wires have recently been lubricated since one of the doors began making squeaky sound during operation. I find it hard to se where I could access the motor, it almost looks like I have to remove the whole interior to get to it. There is a compartment just below the the rear window (the 3rd row window) from what I can se It should be able to pop out but I can only get it loosened like 30% around the edges, then its like its glued down (figure of speech). From the sound of it, that is where the motor sits, i can here it make a twisting sound when I try to open the door. Does anyone know if removing the rear lights gives access to anything?

Anyone know of a list/diagram over the fuse box on these cars?

Are you long out of warranty? If not then I'd be possibly asking for a goodwill gesture if you have full VW history.

Not sure why you'd look at Ford parts?

As the sliding door is quite complicated I'd be taking the car to a VW specialist if the goodwill attempt doesn't lead anywhere.

that is just so weird, not the link I remember copying.

This is the one I ment to show you:
VOLKSWAGEN SHARAN [SHA] (MEXICO) 2012: ELECTRICS: 95900. SLIDING ROOF MOTOR; ELECTRICAL PARTS FOR; SLIDING DOOR; CONTROL UNIT FOR CLOSING AID

I think her in DK the warranty only last for 2 years, so I am past that, I will most certainly try to canal into their good-will If they have any left these days

    Hi all,
I have 2013 Sharan but doesn't come with electric sliding doors. Could it be added or to much hassle then it's worth?
    Thanks

So I finally got the door fixed at a local VW shop, turned out that the very same day a taxi of the same brand and age was having the same issue. Might be a weekness in the model. There was a door relay the was causing this issue and had to be replaced and half of the interior needed to be removed in order to get to it. It ran almost up to 600 pounds in costs.

I donīt think you can aftermarket these electric doors. As far as I know the car needs to manufactured with them since there are a lot of sensors, motors and cables, buttons in dashboard, doorposts etc. that needs to be there In order for it to be complete.
