Hi guys, have a bit of an intermittent niggle with my A6. Occasionally (and i mean very occasionally) if I switch the cruise on and gear up from 5 to 6 it will cancel the cruise control. Has anyone else had this? Any pointers in to where to look/what the culprit maybe?

It's meant to do this, as changing gear is a control input like braking. My 2006 loses cruise setting on changing gear and always has done. Or it could be broken, too.....

Sounds like an automatic so I'd say a fault. The wife's golf allows gear changes without deactivating cruise control

The clutch switch will drop out the cruise when you press the clutch,or should do, also pressing the brake, so looks like you've got a intermittent switch problem,if you've got vcds you can check.there is a minimum speed you can engage cruise so probably that's why you only notice between 5/6.

I still say its a dicky pedal switch, you'll need vcds to confirm or a new switch is about £20 from tps. Its supposed to drop out when declutching or braking.
