Ok as title says bought a mk4 1.6 16v golf for a song but needs front ball joints (easy), boot was jammed (fixed), but couple of times engine light been on and begins to run like bag of nails.
Last time garage diagnosed map and camshaft sensor and cylinder 1 misfire.
Looking at coil pack the 1 nearest drivers side is different and a Bosch unit and the sensor I reccon I camshaft is above what I think is coil pack 4 and the part of the sensor the plug connects to is cables tied onto rest of sensor by previous owner because it exposes 3 metal strips otherwise.
I have no idea were map sensor is but beside water temp sensor is a round housing with another sensor again with plug cable tied on.
It idles fine when cold but low when warmed up but when accelerating all is fine anytime so any help or diagrams appreciated

Fitted new plugs (old 1s showed in good working order), camshaft sensor and coil pack but not much difference, so I'm gonna change map and coolant sensor and fuel filter
