    The engine management light came on today VCDS says miss fire cylinder no 4 checked to see if spark at plug and no spark got new coil pack and plugs did not cure problem tested coil pack no 3 good spark plugged it into no 4 no spark so no power going to no4 4 question is where do I start looking to fix this

    and coil packs, i.e. one per cylinder, or coil and ht leads ?
    Audi 80 tdi avant with 360,000 miles...

    If it's the 1.4 16v with the channels cut out of the airbox/engine cover for the plug leads to sit in, they often become quite worn.

    Remove them from the channels and inspect them for any wear, you could also try swapping the dodgy lead for one you know is good.
