Ok sometime ago i had to replace the epb on the nearside with no problems. I have now had to replace the offside but this time i have hit a problem. Neither side is now working and i have the flashing parking warning light on the dash as well as the switch. We only have a bosch diag bit of kit which tells us we have a open cct on the newly replaced epb on the offside. I was wondering is there any tests i can do to try and narrow down the fault. All the plugs seem to be seated ok on the epb's also we are unable to operate the brakes using the bosch kit. I'm in Hastings and was wondering if there was anyone in the se area who maybe could check it out who has vcds. Any help would be great.

A multimeter will tell you all you need to know, just test the wiring for voltage at the motor.

You must make sure both calipers stay in sync when replacing a motor or strange things can happen.

Thank you for your replies and Richard thank you for offering to make your way down to the south coast. The brakes seem to be working ok now. I parked it up in the evening with the epb fault still showing (epb button flashing & warning light on dash) and no parking brakes . Started the car in the morning no flashing warning lights but just the amber brake light on. Tried the parking brake and all worked ok and still working and the rear offside door has started to open using the outside handle which has not worked for a month. Very strange
