    Hi guys

really hoping someone on here can help.

topped up my AdBlue today and as I was tightening up the cap the top broke off leaving about 2 inches of plastic firmly screwed in.

Is there any way I can retrieve this? I don't want to start messing about with pliers and the like in case I damage the tank.

    any advice gratefully accepted

    Sorry, couldn't help myself.

The cap is 4L0 131 980 D at £23.46 and the transfer line assembly is 4G0 131 963 D at £185.40. You may be interested to know that the design of this part changed on 01/05/2015, perhaps due to this problem. I think I would have a gentle word with Audi.

Mmm - wonder what damage drilling swarf floating about in the tank could do? - Just take it to the dealer and apeeal to their better nature, hardly put any effort on it and it just came away in my hand etc. Its not an expensive fix and if they value your custom at all they'll probably just do it.

Ohhh no,,,,, It looks bad but it is repairable, the alignment is just bent suspension bits, no big deal but I have a reaction against replacing 3/4 panels.... as a body guy I just hate doing them as it just tears into the structure and the shell is never the same again. Yes you can do them "per book" but the ******* insurance assessors just get up your **** and want it done FAST, no thought for five years time when Mr Rust creeps out.
