Hi all, newbie here who's just purchased an Audi 80 V6 Quattro project, and I don't say project in the just needs a polish sense!!

Anyhows, first question is this. Clutch pedal is right to the floor, a google search points to hydraulics. Check and the reservoir is dry. So I put about 200ml of brake fluid in and left it for a while. Come back a few hours later and a nice puddle right under the car and a steady drip from wher the engine and bell housing meet. Now I am going to start pulling things apart soon but was hoping someone may have had this before, is the leak likely to be just the slave cylinder or somewhere close and the fluids running round the seam of the box and block, or is it likely to be running through the middle soaking the clutch in the process?

    Thanks chaps and chapesses

    Ben

    welcome.
it will be the slave leaking. fluid falls out the end and into the bellhousing. just undo the bolt that hlds it in, being very careful as its a steel bolt in an ally housing ad far too easy to snap, which will ruin a perfect day. penetrating oil, plenty of it, then rock it back ad forth. pull the slave out, new one in, connect pipe ad bleed. simple job. so long since i have done one but iirc you do it from the top, leaning over the back of the engine.

That sounds like better news than I thought, lots if things in the way on these v6's before I can see it!! lol. Do you reckon its likely to have contaminated the clutch? I suppose it depends how long it has been failing, ill do the slave cylinder and see if these any slippage.
