Hi all been a while since last post....

my a6 c6 4f2 s-line 3.0 v6 tdi auto has just hit 80k miles only owned abt 18 months and all of sudden im thinking of changing transmission fluid and haldex fluid

I have phoned audi and they told me that it doesnt get changed ever as they are sealed for life units and when they entered my reg there was no option to change gearbox oil or haldex oil

is this the case that I dont have to do this or are they wrong? my service book states 'changing oil (ATF) in multitronic gearbox all audi models every 38k miles', does my model apply to this?

I really would like to find as I have an opportunity to do this now, if not, i wont

    Cheers for your help

According to Audi the tiptronic box it's sealed for life, according to ZF who make the tranny it should be an 80k change and 50k thereafter. Audi weirdly only warranty the box for 80k miles?

    I know who I believe!

It is not the same as a multitronic change and a lot more expensive and fiddly so best left to a specialist

I paid Bristol Transmissions to do mine at 90k in 2013 and the total was £276 inc aftermarket fluid/filter and VAT, using Audi originals it's about £100 more expensive. You can insist Audi do it and I believe it costs close to £600+VAT

As to the Haldex system, something that I've considered, Audi I believe charge £69 which is a good price considering the supply the fluid and filter(?) and a special tool may be needed which requires it to be lifted quite high.

    Hi

All the Quattros use the Tiptronic box so you can ignore anything that refers to Multitronic. I'd still have it changed though despite anyone claiming sealed for life.

Also and please don't think I'm being pedantic but the inline engines such as the V6 use a Torsen differential not a Haldex so again please be careful what notice you take of anything that mentions service intervals on these.

    Cheers

I went for the eco remap so SoTP dyno circa 12% (28BHP) weirdly when I told my insurance company (Tesco) they advised that there would be no additional premium.

I have achieved 920 miles on a brimmed tank in a fully laden car so calculate that's 50mpg, exceptional trip as Somerset to Glasgow and return non-stop (2 x 400) in the wee small hours is not what most people will get, that said I can get 40mpg after 8 miles and close to 50 after 20 miles in normal M'way driving.

Appreciate there's not much traffic down here, plus I choose my journey times carefully having to factor in holiday-maker changeover times on Sat/Sun when I'll simply not go out unless an emergency

The remap coupled with a straight through stainless zaust and no back boxes means it drives like it used to in 'S' mode, and now S mode is pretty rapid

Thanks Mark. I'm looking at a Quantum remap at the minute. They've quoted £200 for the usual extra 35hp and 65 NM etc. I've been told they're ex Superchips people who branched out on their own.

    Bet your exhaust sounds ace!

    PS what's a Pogo Alert+ ?

2 days after buying the car in 2012 I did my first long M'way drive of 185 miles as friend had got me tickets for the Olympics.

Unlike my profile pic car which is modded/decatted with a straight through perf exhaust, the Audi is completely quiet at 70.

As I didn't know how to use the cruise or speed limiter I was stopped on the M4 doing 104...just keeping up with traffic

6 points and £125 fine later I had this fitted, so not only does it give you warnings of any lasers and cameras but also gives your average speed through roadworks, which is essential to ensure no more points. Can't find a demo on youtube, but this is what it looks like:

Thanks (again). Got to admit coming from a Honda CRV the A6 has caught me out a few times with how fast I'm going. Out of interest did you hardwire your Pogo in or use the socket? Looking at a dash cam but don't want wires running everywhere!
