Hello Everyone,

First of all, apologies if this isn't the right area to post - I did a quick check around and couldn't see anywhere else to post (I may have missed it!)

I am looking at buying a 2013 (61) A5 Sportback 2.0 TDi (177) Black Edition S Line. This car is an ex lease through Lex AutoLeasing, its done 91k miles - pretty much all motorway, 1 prev owner, full Audi service history, full AA mechanical check (all clear no faults or bad history), HPI check clear. I have test driven the car (drives like a dream) and ran a check using an ODB code reader (Autel AL619) with no faults returned.

Asking price £17850 (reduced, was £20000 2 months ago).

Front tyres are new, rears are fine for a couple of years at least (for my usage anyway) Breaks and break pads are pretty much new, pads have plenty on them, last service at 89k - no issues reported or found. I cannot fault this car internally or externally any way, its immaculate.

1 potential sticking point: Timing belt not done but there seems to be controversy around this area.

So I am thinking, when something seems to good t be true, it most often is so I have a couple of questions and would Really appreciate some feedback from you all;

1: How to modern diesel's (this diesel specifically if you have any knowledge) stand up to high mileage if looked after correctly? My mileage will be sub 12k every year at the very most.
2: When would you consider changing the timing belt? I have heard 75k for private owners and 130k for lease cars but this is a huge discrepancy..... I wonder why there is such a difference?
3: Would you recommend taking out an Audi extended warranty (comprehensive?)

Thank you very much for taking the time to read this, I really appreciate it.

Kind Regards,

Dave

p.s think I have covered everything.....
