    Hello There,

I am a girl & I just drive the car so excuse my very simple non technical explanation of what is wrong

So for the last week the parking sensors seemed to be stuck on!! The radio will not turn on or off as the picture of the car & the sensor ranges are permanently on the radio display, even while I drive. When i take the key out of the ignition the picture remains on the radio... It never turns off. I have returned to the car 10 mins after taking the key out & the picture is still THERE.... aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The parking sensors themselves work, when i put the car into reverse I get a beep & when i start to reverse (if i am near something) the display shows me how close I am getting & the beeping also tells me how close I am getting. If I then go forward it works fine too.

I have tried to turn off the parking sensors via the button but that does not work.

We are desperate to listen to the radio on the school run so what is the verdict, please don't tell me its expensive.

Any advice or tips would be welcome

CAR: 2008 58 VW PASSAT ESTATE SPORT TDI 1.9

    Cheers BIDDY

How long have you had this fault? Was the car being driven when it started, or parked up, overnight, or in a rainstorm? Have you had any shunts that might have not show obvious damage to the bumper?

Seems that you'd need a VCDS Autoscan that would read what faults there are and give a direction to how to fix
Where in London are you? I'm close to Sun in the Sands roundabout off the A102 southbound out of Blackwall Tunnel

Meantime, some stuck faults can be cleared with a battery disconnect, wait 10 mins, then re-connect again.
Use the negative terminal for this.
