I'm sure the mods will create a B9 section soon..

A september 2015 car will be a B8.5 (or B8 Facelift), first deliveries of the B9 start in November and the order book opens in the UK tomorrow.

That's interesting - I thought it was based on a completely new MQB platform and would thus deserve a whole number. Maybe they'd even do a Microsoft and call it B10 ;-)

The B8.5 is the old platform the new B9 is the new MLB evo platform.

Perhaps I have missunderstood your question? If you had a new A4 delieverd next week, it would be the old B8.5, however if you order a new A4 tomorrow, and take delivery in November/December it would be a B9

Maybe now we can drop the stupid B? nomenclature and use the proper platform type numbers instead such as 8D, 8E, and current 8K and use the 8? code the MLB A4 is going to use for the 2017 model year. Whatever it is going to be is not on the system yet. Using the correct type code avoids people constantly wondering what the hell the B, C etc all mean as the type number is on the data sticker and NORMALLY in the VIN.
