I logged into the MyAudi portal yesterday and saw a new option to add your own newsfeeds to the "Online News" section of the car's Audi Connect menu. As the supplied feeds are a bit rubbish this sounded great so I added the BBC rss feed (feeds.bbci.co.uk/news/rss.xml) to the list and went to try it in the car. Unfortunately no matter what I do the Online News section of my Audi Connect is stuck with the 7 default feeds and the BBC one doesn't appear. It's been 24 hours since I added the feed and I've rebooted the MMI just in case that would help but no dice

I'm wondering if this "new newsfeed" feature is limited to newer versions of Audi Connect - my A6 is a 2012 car (albeit with updated MMI firmware) with the tech pack. Has anyone got it to work - perhaps with a facelift car? The option is buried on the MyAudi portal: login, go to Audi Connect...Services...Online News...New Newsfeed and enter the rss URL. You also need to link your car with the portal using the supplied PIN if you haven't already.

The online news feature is just a web browser that loads online content so there's no reason why it shouldn't work but Audi move in mysterious ways...

Note that your car needs to be specced with the Tech pack (MMI High and Phone Prep High) to have any chance of this working

I have a facelift Black Edition with tech pack and my newsfeed works fine. I've added a couple although they're hardly worth the effort. The predefined feeds seem to have more content. The 2 I've added are...

    BBC Sport - Sport
    Formula 1®

Could it be the address that you've added is maybe wrong and the car doesn't know what to do with it?!

It must be face-lift only then. I've tried on my wife's S3 and it works, though hardly worth the effort as you say!

Annoyingly The My Audi site seems to offer quite a few features that aren't actually compatible with the registered cars (it offers podcast downloading for the S3, for example, despite that being Q3/A1 only)
