I was wondering if anyone can help.

I have a 3G high on my facelift A6 but can't for the life of me figure out how you play a DVD. There was a thread on the A4 about this but it stopped when it was found to be a DVD based Satnav.

    When I insert a DVD I get this. It's a Region 2 original DVD.

    Any ideas?

I can't see any NAV Disc anywhere. Nav still works. I thought it would be HDD based if the MMI knob has a joystick on top.

So what is the DVD option in the media list for? Can it actually play any DVD?

Early MMI 3G firmware had a bug and would not play DVD's. My guess is you need to update your firmware. Post a picture of the version screen to confirm.

Can anyone confirm if the above is new or not. I suspect not.

Called Audi for an update price and told me £60 ish for diagnostic then labour charge on top for the update. But no matter how hard I tried they refused to give me a price on how long the job is and therefore the update price.

I did the update to 5570 with my old preface lift C6, don't know much about the 3G, can this be updated at home?

That is the same version I was running and has the firmware bug that will not play DVD's so you need to upgrade the firmware and nav as if you only update the firmware the old navigation maps will not work with the new firmware.

It's not a quick job to update the maps and firmware, my car took around 6 hours as the firmware has to be ran twice, and the map update failed so had to be re-run. If if the update work without fault the update takes at least 3 hours.

If your looking for the latest firmware & maps then google gps underground and start reading, but be warned it's not without risk if you go down the DIY route.

Was more confident with my old C6 to do updates. It had few extras. Updated all modules fine.

Current C6 has almost all the options list ticked. Rare find.

Does this update all the modules in the car as per pre facelift?

It will update any of the MMI 3G modules, 5F, CD-Changer, DVD-Changer, AMP, Radio & TV. The update is similar to the MMI 2G update but takes a lot longer. Make sure you have a battery charger connected to the front terminals.
