Does anyone know why my Golf radio display suddenly changed to German language and the radio will not play any sound. The phone also will dial but no sound out of the speakers. The navigation appears to be ok and displays the correct position. I have tried running the disc into it which took about an hour but made no difference. It is showing SW version 3980. Can anyone help please?

That's a strange one was the battery flat at some point? Did you jump start anyone for a cause in voltage drop? Am only asking as I have seen this happen b4 and the radio went to factory settings as if it had been just plugged in

No the battery didn't go flat it just happened on start up. I have tried disconnecting the battery but it made no difference. I can find the language selection in the menu but it just seems to jam when you select English. I have messed with coding trying to get power fold mirrors to work (not fully working yet) and fitted a genuine phone module but it was ok for a while after.

If you're going VW Hereford let me know in case you have issues again. I have VCP and VCDS so can help with the majority of electronics issues on the mk6.

Hi Julie. It’s been over five years now and it’s still working fine. Did you do anything you think might have caused it? It looks like you’ll have to go to a dealer to see if they can help!

The first thing to do is look at your posts in this thread?

You have posted the same text twice.

Put your car spec in your signature.

Is this an OEM RNS 510? Check the language settings.
