hi all ive just bought my self a 2007 A3 Sline 140bhp 2.0TDI only to discover the gearbox is fit for the scrap yard! this is due to some numpty puting atf oil in it so i have to find my self a new gearbox( fun times ) my gearbox code is GLU but every box i find for sale has completely codes could some one give me some advice on what code boxs will fit ? ( plug and play without coding ) Engine code is BKU if that makes any difference

This is a minefield subject, one of my customers is currently searching for an S4 DSG box as the £8K for a new Audi unit is a bit stiff! Personally I won't find one for him as I don't want the responsibility but I am advising him on each one he finds. There is no such box as a GLU, it would have to be a JPJ or possibly an HXS.

Hi crash thanks for the reply

Ah well the sticker with the codes on is missing that was the information I was given by the gearbox company they had to ring someone up to get it apparently

That could also be the reason why I'm having such a hard time finding a box with glu lol

Do you know how I can find out the correct info ?

    Thanks

Oh right well now I'm completely baffled

So my registration brings up a manual car as well as my chassis plate by the looks of things any ideas what's goin in here ?

The car was bought from a salvage yard just needing a respray no panel dmg ( and a gearbox now ) its done 30k and is mint inside and underneath mileage is correct and mot,s tie up it has everything required to be a dsg everything works perfectly too

Is there a code on the box it self ? If so do you know where abouts it is ?

Thanks for all the help I'm losing my mind with this thing tried to get a cheap car to save to move out and it's bit me in the back side !

Was in salvage for bein keyed up every panel basically and 2 tires put tires on it and found gearbox is noisy then found atf oil in it

So basically the bell end who owned it put the wrong oil in the box screwed the box up then decided to do an insurance job on it by keying every panel I'm waiting for the log book to come back so I can trace the previous owner and tell him about himself ...
