Here we go again minor i hope,

Got the car washed today as it was rather dirty due to road works going on outside the house, i put the child locks on the other day but today the guy who was washing the car pulled the handle and it wouldnt open. i cant open from the inside nor the outside i know what the problem is just cant get to it to sort it with the child lock activated as i need the car door open. Any help on how to open the door if it wont open from the outside and the child lock is on inside

I have the same problem on my passat.
I have got the window out and the door card off but I cannot get to the lock itself.
It seems it a common problem but no one knows how to sort it

Hey Hey the King aint dead, lol

Elvis my good man i bit the bullet and took it to the Vw garage where the car was originally bought from and explained the problem. Some how the master technician was able to get the car door open. Dont know how he done it but he did. once opened if you pullk the door rubber on the edge of the door at the door handle there is a small hole unwound the small screw and the little blanking cover that covers a keyhole if there was one that comes out and behind there, there is a liitle clip/ gripper for the releasing cable he glued it or clamped it in some way. anyway I havent looked back and everything is working fine. Cost £40 in total only charged half an hour labour.

    hope this helps you out,

    Andy

Yeah baby I am still here.

After much swearing and tea drinking I have got the door open.
The lock seems to be sticky so i need to remove it to clean it up or replace it.
I have removed the 2 screws that hold it in but there is a small cable attached to it coming from the door handle. so I need to remove the door handle. Thats the problem now how do you get the door handle off.
    Andy.
