    Hi,

My rear parking beepers aren't working, there is no noise at all when engaging reverse which I think can indicate an issue with the beeper buzzer. Have googled and it seems the beeper is only about 12 quid so I thought I'd give this a go before paying to have it looked at.

Is it easy to replace and where is it situated on an A4 Avant - 2005?

    Thanks,

    Mike

Im not sure of the location of the Beeper but a quick way to see if the sensors are working is to turn the Ignition on (engine off) select reverse and then very lightly touch the sensors. you can actually feel the pulsing and if your hearing is good enough you can hear them ticking. if there's no sign of life then it's more than just the beeper.

Thanks - sounds like all the sensors are working. I suspect it's the speaker as there is no beep at all, normally if it's a sensor there is a fault beep warning.

anyone know where the speaker is located.....also need the part number. Google suggests it should only cost 13 quid but just called Audi and they reckon it will cost 33 quid for part number 635C??

    Thanks,

    Mike.

It's under the drivers footwell cover in the same area as the fuses and relay plates

It's under the near side rear sidewindow. You have to remove all boot trim to get at it.

Not too bad if you just want to get to the bleeper and control box. I had to remove my bumper and had to remove both side trims. I am not near the car at present and am doing this from memory. Unscrew trim covering the bottom of tailgate opening, the n/s boot floor support may need removing as do all the obvious brackets holding the n/s trim. The official way is to remove rear seats but not necessary.you may have to pull of the rubber seal. Start easing the trim from the car, it's not fun at first as it needs a fair degree of force. I managed it without breaking any clips. Sorry can't be more specific as I did it years ago, common sense will help you. Good luck
