Vehicle Speed Sensor (G68) VW Part Number?

Hi all,

Pretty simple question:

2002 MK4 Golf 1.9 TDI Auto threw up a problem with the Vehicle Speed Sensor (G68).

Will check the wiring / earthing etc but will probably replace it anyway.

Can't find the right part - local VW Dealership not a lot of help, nothing in Haynes manual and Bentley doesn't reference the part no.

Is it:

01M 927 321 B
VW BEETLE / BORA / GOLF III & IV - RPM SPEED SENSOR - AUTO BOX - NEW 01M927321B | eBay

Or this:

What is your engine code?
What is the 10th character on your VIN (should either be 2 or 3)??

The code for the G68 (vehicle speed sensor) my database comes up for a MY2003 Golf with auto transmission is 357919149B.

Both of your links are for the engine crankshaft senders, i.e. engine and not vehicle speed.

Thanks - seems odd though, other forums and info available have the 01M... Code as the G68, but a parts dealer online told me it was the latter. Are you in the U.S.? I'm in the UK - wonder if there's a different code? From all the available info I can gather, it seems like the G68 has a pig tail harness?

Sorry mate, looked at wrong list (manual boxes)....

01M927321B is the correct G68 for your car
