Does anyone have experience of launching and recovering boats on concrete slipways with one of these please? Am considering it as a replacement to my trusty but ageing convertible anyway but then wondered if in addition it could usefully replace an old Land Rover too; granted no low range gearbox but in theory all season tyres, diesel grunt, auto gearbox and quattro system should be up to it. Boat and braked twin-axle trailer weigh 1.25 tons so expect absolutely no problems towing on the road, it's just potentially the slipway recovery from a standing start. As I only need to launch and recover twice a year plus trail about 5 miles every time, it would save me the aggro of running another vehicle. Thanks - await your comments with interest.

I think you should be fine, see this link:

Appreciate you are not towing any great distance (which I think would involve a more regular tranny fluid change than the norm), suppose the one thing you would have to ensure is that the tyres you have fitted offer good wet grip...since those concrete slipways can be treacherous and slippery at times.
