    Hi All, long time since ive been on here but im back! Now with a troublesome Golf!

    Anyway, have this 2002 GT TDI, well maintained but slightly high miles @ 136k.

    Seems to run fine 99% of the time. The problem i have is that sometimes the turbo just stops, well it fells like that. 800 miles in the past week and its happened 5 or so times, 4 of those times when i was going up hill. Now if i turn the engine on and off all is well again.

    I scanned it and have the following errors;

    17664 - P1256 Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor (G62)
    Open circuit/short circuit to B+, 35-10, intermittent

    17964 - P1556 Charge press. ctrl.
    Value below lower control limit, 35-10, intermittent

    16485 - P0101 Mass or Volume Air Flow Circ. (G70)
    Range/Performance, 35-10, intermittent

    Any hints of where to start with this? I have browsed the net and it would seem wise to get a new MAF for starters?

    Cheers!

    It could be sticking turbo vanes or an n75 valve causing the limp mode. Did you clear the codes and rescan after a couple of days?

    The N75 is on the bulkhead next to the N18 valve which it is almost identical to. The N75 has 3 vacuum pipes all on the same side the N18 has 2 on one side 1 on the other. If possible get some live data using VCDS. No photo you'll find photos on google

    I only have the system called CarPort not VCDS. Can an evaluation copy of VCDS give give you live data or do you need to purchase a copy?

    Look for the site members with VCDS map and find someone near you. The member will scan your car. VCDS lite won't give you live data

    Cleared the codes today and so far the cars behaved, no loss of power and no return of the faults as yet. When I scan I only get results from the Engine controller and ABS, is this usual? I used vagcom years back on my 80 Coupe and seem to remember seeing lots if controllers being checked, although that was a petrol so maybe diesel is different??
