Hi everyone

A query about the brake pad wear indicator light on my wife's Polo 1.4FSI, 2004 model. It came on unexpectedly - the car's not used much and the pads were changed not that long ago. Investigation revealed the connector block that the pad wear indicator lead plugs into had cracked, presumably shorting the wires (as if the pad had worn down) and lighting the indicator. I've disconnected the lead and taped it up, fastened back out of harms way with cable ties. The question is, why is the indicator light still on? Does it need a reset with VCD or some sequence of button push/key switch?

Some time in the future I'll look for on in a breaker's yard to get the bits to reconnect but for now it's at least driveable and I do know the pads have plenty wear left. Anyone tackled this job before and if so were you able to get new connectors?
