As Teflon states the DSG box needs specialist oil and it is pricey at around £15 a litre! There are kits online for around £85 to £100 that come with 6 litres of oil, new plug, seals and a filter. Changing the oil is not difficult but arduous as there are a few ways it can be done. I chose the lengthy one where you drain the oil after removing the plastic screw in level pipe inside the drain hole carefully measuring the amount that comes out. Remove the filter (top of the gearbox under the battery tray / air intake pipe - remove them for access) then refill through the filter hole which is small so very small. Takes 45 minutes to put in around 4 and a bit litres of oil. Pop in filter, screw it up and put back battery tray and intake plastic ware. The official VW way is to force the oil back into the box via the drain hole (after refitting the level tube inside) using a special VW tool which is essentially a tube down which the oil is fed under pressure. You can make one - search the Web as many have done so. Once the fluid starts to run out of the drain hole the car is started and the DSG oil temperature monitored until it reaches a certain temperature, gears run through the range and the engine switched off. Once the oil running out slows to a drip the level is correct and the drain plug refitted. This process however wastes a fair bit of oil hence the 6 litres provided when only around 4 are drained out. Basically you throw away around £10 to £20 of oil doing the change!! Fixed price at VW for this procedure is £189 so not hideously expensive when you take into account the oil cost.

PS There is no torque converter in a dual clutch gearbox but there is a mechatronics unit full of valves and solenoids which retains nearly 2 litres of oil hence you only drain around 4 of the old out.

Just saw this which has an application guide on their page.
Unlike my Blauparts kit that I got for my Tip where they wouldn't seperate the six litres of ATF from the package deal so I had to pay USPS on that weight, these DSG parts can be bought seperately.
