OK, were is it hiding and more over where can I buy one.

I've looked in haynes, elsawin, internet, even did a search on here.

It's an elusive little blighter considering it's such an important thing.

Been getting excessive oil in the inlet air duct and throttle body, did some seach on this I noticed this PCV valve poping up regularly. Apparenlty, if it's faulty if can blow gaskets, seals, poor running etc and it's such a simple replacement/ repair.

Surely some one should know something about these things.

    Thanks.

The PCV valve is located on the underside of the hard plastic induction pipe about an inch or so before it attaches to the throttle body. All parts diagrams seem to show it integral
with the pipe, and not listed separately, even though its a push fit onto the pipe. Its more of a problem when clogged shut rather than open, but the excess oil and water shows
there is a potential clogging issue with the rest of the PCV system.I would take off the inlet manifold, then dismantle the system, including the part attached to the block, and
clean out all the components. You will be surprised how much guck is in there. One word of warning, the L shaped plastic pipe is very prone to failure where it joins the rubber pipe, later modified, and the rubber pipe is known to collapse internally,so get new ones before you start.Part numbers are 037103772b(breather assembly-on block),
    058103213(breather line),058103221(vent pipe).Intake air duct is 058133357a.

Thank you for that replay. I finally found what was claimed to be the pcv, but audi call it the bleed valve. It did indeed look like it was part of the plastic air intake attached to the throttle body, most I have seen are long in shape with a sprung type mechanism inside, mine is just clear, ironically i'd actually cleaned it out last year or so, it being totally blocked. It does seem fused to the plastic though.

I recently ordered an inlet manifold gasket and I think some time in the next few weeks I will carry out your advice.

Such a little problem and cause really quite a lot of damage, especially blowing oil seals and gaskets.

    Thanks.

To make things easier undo the outer pinch clips on the four rubber connectors and replace them with jubilee clips. This will save having to remove the jet carrier and the fuel rail each time you have to remove the manifold.I clean my pcv system out every two years, probably more than necessary, but at least I know the system functions well.A little silicone grease
on the manifold stubs aids reassembly, and helps with future disassembly.

Thanks, I was planning on replacing the injector o rings as well, there difficult to find the exact right spot. Never worked with the fuel system, always makes me nervous.
