Door mouldings - outer

Door mouldings on the outside at the very bottom of the door. How fitted etc ...

I've never had cause or reason to remove one of these, I'm assuming based on what I've seen on the one I just bought that there are clips of some sort, remove the two torx screws and then tap backwards and then it should release.

Unfortunately on the car I just bought it has been put on with some sort of double sided tape - and not particularly well - looks terrible because it has come away.

I've looked in the parts software I have but no clips are shown for them, so I'm wondering whether the double sided tape thing is how the factory actually fit them. I'm not about to mess with our other Passat to find out, that way I end up with two cars looking a mess.

SO anyone removed or replaced the lower mouldings on the outside at the bottom of the door - how were they fitted

It's very easy. Undo all torx screws, and slide to left towards rear arch and remove. It's held on clips but more like runners, so it slides out and in.
