Hi. There are usually plenty of keys available on ebay and when I bought my used A4, I picked a spare up from there. As you say, it is simply a matter of swapping the innards over. Care must be taken in extracting the small glass transponder from the old fob as it is a tight fit in it's aperture and needs to be very gently levered out.

Do you really need the whole key fob? Both me and my Son have spruced up our keys in the past by simply replacing the rubber button insert. Cheap and easy to do: Audi A2 A3 A4 A6 A8 TT 3 Button Key Fob Remote Rubber Buttons | eBay

Ok, thanks for the input, I went to TPS yesterday as I have an account with them, said buttons not available on their own, so gonna try the ones on the bay, only a couple of quid so nothing to loose really ( well £2 I suppose)..........

They'll be fine. I have one key with genuine button rubber insert and one with an ebay jobbie - I can't tell the difference in any respect.

Ok, thanks Steve, it's only my buttons that look a bit worn/old!

Thanks for that tip. My daily use key now has a whole new lease of life! A huge improvement. Many thanks.
