Replacing reversing light on 2012 Audi A6 Avant estate

Can anyone help? I can find countless videos and guides on how to replace bulbs for A4s and early A6 saloons but nothing for a 2012 Audi A6 Avant estate.

Please can you give me any advice on how to remove the cluster from the inside? It looks impossible!

I believe the reversing bulb is on the tailgate light cluster; so open tailgate- obviously; slide the small cover outwards and it will slide out. Look up and you will see a 10mm nut on a plastic bracket, undo this nut and the bracket will fall away from the cluster, unplug connector and lift cluster away from outside. It may need to be shifted outwards as it has a small lip along the tailgate edge.

Hello and thanks for the advice but the light cluster on an estate is on the rear corner of the body, not the tailgate.

If you look inside the boot where the cluster is attached to the body there are no bolts or screw heads visible. Just two or three plastic clip type things (all different) that are immovable by hand and feel as though they would break if I tried to turn them or move them with pliers.

In videos for A4 estate there's an easy removal process. Not so for the A6!!!

Are you sure?? Have you physically looked at the back of the avant with the reverse lights on? No i doubt it! maybe you should do and maybe just maybe RTFM !! Audi have supplied you with one for exactly that reason and not for lazy owners who can not be bothered to pick it up but instead make posts asking for help !!
