    Hi
It appears that I have one of my Crash senders on my 2003 model Audi A4 Quattro Avant 1.9TDI
Its flagged up implausible signal intermittent.

Just Looked up the main numbers on the sender which are as follows.

    004 191002
    2682
    8EO 959 651 H.V

Theres some on fleabay at the moment that have the 8EO 959 651 but dont have the suffix H.V

is this coding critical to match the vehicle operation or will any of them interchange with the existing.

    Many thanks
    Stuart

I have said it before and I will say it again. There are many things I would be happy buying secondhand off Ebay. A sensor which powers explosives designed to save your life if the worst happens is not one of them!

Get a price from TPS first, a genuine one is not always expensive and can actually be cheaper than the rubbish ones on the bay. as matey before said, ebay good for lots of things but not critical parts that could be rubbish copies!!

    Hi Kevin
Struggling at the moment, I have checked the wiring for loose connectors or broken wires and can find nothing which I can only conclude that its one of the sensors or maybe both where the problem lies,

its a bit of a guess as I dont know how to test them and I could be purchasing something which may not solve the problem.
    Have you any suggestions.
    Thanks
    Stuart

I should add both the sensors appear to be the same hand and in an earlier PM from you I understand on other vehicles they are handed which also causing me confusion.
Are Audi front sensor handed IE left and right orientated. or does anyone else have the information, it may be when it had the shunt one was replaced and could be the wrong hand if thats the case.

You can swap the sensors left to right to see if the fault code moves, that will then tell you if it is the sensor that is the problem.....

Crash sensors on Toyota vehicles are handed,
Swapping the sensor's left to right will not prove anything, as the code recorded, only specified front crash sensor, we were suggesting it was the left sensor, as the car was impacted at that front corner.
The only way to check the sensor, would be to disconnect the battery, remove the front right sensor and test the resistance and then compare with the left side, see if there is a difference .

Don't think they are on the Audi, but certainly the connections are the same, so for testing they can be swapped.

Mine specified a side when the sensor failed so it worked for me.

I will contact Audi and give them the part number for one and see if replacing them one at a time would sort it.
Maybe do it when I fetch it down to you Kevin then I could see if it takes the light off.
I will give you a ring or contact you by P.M as and when I get the part.
