    Hi...

Having owed my A6 for two weeks now, one thing I have to say is the BOSE sounds fantastic. Apart from that is the squeaky toney sound coming from the front dash speaker. My ears just pick up on it all the time, so I decided to investigate by removing the plastic mesh panel on top of the dash. And there it was... a little 4" speaker all on its own. With a 5mm socket I undid the two screws and popped out the speaker, then I disconnected the plug. The difference to me is noticable and having the sound setting on ALL and the BOSE surround set in the middle it now sounds right to me.

    Thx

    Martin

Might be the same issue I had. It was more of a vibration, but after a tip from silo24 I added some felt to the underside of the central grill and it was cured. After speaking to the dealer I found out it’s the fix they use too.

Do you get the same sound with the grill removed completely? If it’s a faulty speaker/amp then it’s worth replacing though… surely the dsp will be setup and operating as if the speaker is available?

When I upgraded to an 11 speaker Infinity Kappa system in my profile pic car I put double sided foam pads under both the front speakers and also applied dynamat to the areas behind all speakers excepting the sub, the resultant sound was though to be superior to the B&W system fitted to newer Jaguars (according to my dealer principal who sat in to have a listen).

    Hi...

Sorry guys there's no problem with the speaker or the plastic grill, it just sounds better to me without that speaker on.

    Thx

    Martin
