    Hi there,

    I drive VW passat b5 1.9 TDI year 2000

    1. Is ebay a good place to order rear brake pads with brake discs? Like - VW Passat B5 1.9 TDi Estate 108 Rear Brake Pads Discs 245mm Solid TRW Sys Kit | eBay

if not what brand you would suggest? I will sell car in summer, so I don't need really expensive brand.

    2. Where is the best place to order wheel nuts for steel wheels ? I contacted eurocarparts they are asking 5GBP for one nut, maybe cheaper place?

Buy Pagid brakes and discs it's for your safety until it's sold. Go to a local motor factors and tell him the brand you want and if he doesn't have them he'll get them. You'll get wheel studs from a breaker for nada

    Many thanks for your reply.

I will need a rewind tool, so what do you think about this - BRAKE CALIPER PISTON REWIND TOOL Ford Focus KA Fiesta Mondeo VW Passat Polo Seat | eBay

also I found pagid brake pads and discs in ecp.

Will they fit for rear side? discs - http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Vo...1171ecc&000027

    and pads - http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/Vo...dbc08dc&000036

What do you think about Eicher company for pads and discs, as they are cheaper ?

    Thank you for your help!

Thats a good price for the discs and pads well worth the extra few bob. The rewind tool isn't a respected brand you'll get a Laser or Sealey tool for around the same price or borrow one from an Indie? Eicher sucks

I found something like this, but isn't saying anything about that it will fit with VW passat - Sealey Disc Brake Piston Wind-Back Tool with Double Adaptor VS024 | eBay

also do I need any lubricant/oil before I apply new brakes and discs?

You could use a little red grease on the guide pins. That tool will fit your brakes.

ebay is fine as long as you buy from a reputable company selling known brands. if you just find the cheapest non branded stuff that claims to be made by brembo for a quid, then good luck to you.

I bought Mintex discs and brake pads. It was exactly the same as in eurocarparts or any other store, but 10-15 GBP cheapers.

That's not the best way to bleed the brakes, you need either vacuum, easibleed style or an assistant
