    Hi guys,

This for my brother. I know the first thought is going to be the same as mine, but he is not losing any coolant at all he says, but has an aftermarket induction kit fitted, which someone has told him is not a perfect fit, causing it to draw in all kinds of water and crap into the combustion chamber and causing this.

Personally, I've never come across anything like that without a cracked head gasket, certainly not that bad anyway. Anyone know if what he's been told is possible? And he should just get rid of the induction kit and do a full service to remedy this? I can't imagine what damage this has already done.

    Thanks in advance

So you think it is the induction kit? He only serviced it a few months back.

no, i think he does short journey and the engine just never gets properly hot, and the fact the 1.6's are as prone to a bit of mayo in the filler as any other engine makes me think its just normal. the real test is to see what the oil on the dipstick is like. if its also like yoghurt then yes, he has problems, if its fine then stop worrying and drive.

Okay, I'll have him to check it. That just seems like a lot of mayo for just a few months. It's like a full jar lol

i know. they all do that sir, especially in the winter. if you look though, there is no vent on the filler cap, just a long tube, so moisture goes to the top and stays there.

Thank pal. I'll get him to check it all and do what you suggested.
