Morning All,

Been browsing here for a while now and thought it high time I introduce myself...

No stranger to Audis and since my first 80 back in the late nineties, I've not strayed from the four rings (well four wheels anyway - I've often wondered what would happen if Audi made motorcycles...)

So currently, I have a C5 2000 model so prefacelift. It's the first Audi since I've been married and it didn't take too long to persuade the wife to buy one and she too is very
happy. She's quite the driving girl and really likes the handling of the Quattro drivetrain along with heated rear seats, built in rear blinds for Baby Boy, removable tow bar (for our trailer) and we've gone on a few long driving holidays together and she's commented on how comfortable it really is. What we really like though is when we fill it up with kids, shopping etc. it's not until we brake that we realise we're full. The engine just pulls and pulls and an average of 33 mpg closely matches her earlier French 205.

First Bose for me though and very impressed, I like bassy music so it's just perfect. I think this is now a pre-requisite, along with Quattro, for all future vehicles. It's just a shame the cd player doesn't work and I've got no additional inputs. I really must get around to this.

It it now without it's problems though, currently got a power problem so looking to dump the codes to begin some diagnostic activity. Drivers window is crooked and doesn't retract properly, the passenger window was completely broken but i bought a kit on ebay for £25 and this solved the problem although was not without it's installation challenges. ABS ECU fried (but Audi recommend completely replacing the whole system at 14 years - I'd be interested to hear if anyone has replaced this on an older vehicle, it doesn't make economic sense in my mind) and the boot lid trim is pretty loose with broken plastic. No tailgate but we do have the dog guard and I've only just noticed it fits when the rear seats are folded forward - those Germans really pay attention...

Had this one for two years now and added 20k to the current 140k. I'd like to get to the bottom of the power issue and am not really in the mood to replace just yet, although we do want the Q7 as our next upgrade (Bose of course along with Pan Roof...

As for me, I'm in Avionics, three small people but not four legged ones...I do (try to ) most things myself, I'm better with my bike (BlackBird) though as I have a ramp and indoor space for working but as a general rule I can't bear to pay someone to do something I can do myself.

Well, That's probably enough rambling for me...Have a good weekend all and see you around the forums!!!
