Have noticed that the CD Player in Avant doesn't seem to switch it's self off even when there's no key in the ignition! It's the player that takes 6 discs into the single slot on the centre console. Even when the player is turned off and the key's out of the ignition the player continues to make a sound like it's counting or shuffling the discs it has. Is this normal? I'd been sat in the car for a while and it still made these noises so it wasn't like it was turning off slowly. Anyone any ideas...?

Does it just make these noises for a little while or for a long while? Mine is the single disc Concert unit & it often makes noises for a few secs after shutting off the ignition, but it does stop & not suddenly make noises after a while! Can you turn the unit on with the key removed from the ignition? If not then all will be well, and you dont have a cross over on the permanent & ignition operated power sources. All radio units have a permanent power supply anyway to allow for system shut downs & remembering your settings.

It's normal for a slight delay while the unit powers down. You should be able to turn on the unit without the key for about 1 hour, then it will power off again to prevent battery failure.

(Handy if you want your 1 hour luch break in the car as well!)

On my stereo in my vRS there is an option to have it stay on or turn off when the key is removed.

Maybe this is a simple change of a setting.
