First off I'm an American used to calling this area of my car a "trunk" so let me apologize in advance for any terminology errors I'm sure to incur.

I poured through the forums looking for a previous thread to this issue and couldn't find one.

My passat boot lid only opens remotely via the key fob or the release button in the glove box. If I hit the unlock button on my fob twice I hear all the doors and the boot unlock, but the paddles under the lip at the rear that are supposed to release the boot lid do nothing. They stopped working about a year and a half ago.

I've found multiple threads dealign with the opposite issue (manual release works, remote does not) but none on this end of things.

I'm not familiar enough with the mechanics of this system to know how it operates or what the issue may be. If anyone knows what the problem is or even has a schematic of the sytem so that if and when I hack into it I'm not doing so blind, I would appreciate it greatly.
