Flickering fuel gauge light?

Hi, I have just purchased a 2009 Audi A5 Cabriolet (2.0 Tfsi), and I have a couple of questions that I am hoping someone could help me with.

1.) I have noticed that the lighting on the fuel gauge keeps flickering. Does anyone know what this is likely to be? and if it is an expensive fix?

2.) Every time I start the car, the radio mutes and there is a beeping noise which lasts for a few seconds, then it stops and the radio unmutes. Does anyone know what this is for or what it means?

I'm not an A5 owner but my Audi radio mutes, beeps and then my bluetooth phone connects, radio comes back on, takes maybe 2 seconds for the process to complete. Could this be the same?

This sounds exactly the same, but the problem is I dont think mine has bluetooth, as when I search on my phone it does not find an audi device, and when I press the tel. button in my car, it just says "telephone not installed"?

I am nowhere near my car so can't check the manual, I think you have to set the car to scan from one of the menus prior to scanning from the phone. Others may know better. If there are no replies I'll check my manual this afternoon.

Edit - seems I may be wrong here, when you get the phone not connected message you have to be in the tel menu screen then press setup then search from the phone.

Nope, mine doesn't beep (unless I am reversing of course), so no idea what that is and I assume you are not seeing any warnings. Does it still beep without the radio switched on?

The fuel gauge issue sound like an LED failing. Did it come with any warranty? How long have you had it?

There's a fairly common consumption issue on that engine to watch out for.
