So my head gasket went the other day.
So I thought. While it's apart I might as well strip it and clean it properly.

Will continue cleaning on Monday send it off for skimming and pressure testing. then to lap in the valves and change the valve stem seals and it's ready to refit.

So I came across a problem this morning. 2 of the 8 new valve stem seals are damaged. Does anyone have any laying around or no a good place to pick them up?

Started cleaning the head. Some of the water ways are looking a little worse for wear but haven't wrecked the head.
On to cleaning the block today as the head is off to be skimmed.

Did you get the valve stem oil seals? A dealer should still be able to source them or a factor. The head cleaned up well, where did the gasket blow?

The stem seals should come with the head gasket set.

So got the head back. It's all flat and no need to skim.

can you guess what I forgot to insert before the stem seal.

Just got to put the camshalf back on and then back onto the block.
Having trouble finding the torque settings as for some reason my Haynes (*****) manual doesn't acknowledge the year of my car.
