Vw have just been on and informed me that it will be 3 new injectors needed 2 and 1/2 years after they was all done on the recall . £1472

Was it recalled at the time of injector recalls? You can check on VW's official website ( Check for Safety Recalls : Volkswagen UK ) Get on to VW customer services and see if they will give any goodwill payment. Try Corkills in Wigan, who I have found helpful over the past 4 years and who service my car. They are someone I feel that I can trust. Steve Keenan is the service manager or just go through to service reception

Yes was done on the recall in june 2012 . all new injectors and new loom.

Just had loom replaced and now they say it is 3 new injectors required .

they told me they have asked for goodwill but been told because it is out of the 2 year warranty they are unwilling to do this.

Don't feel like i am getting a very well built car if i can expect new injectors after 30k and 2n1/2 years.

    Unhappy.

    Can anybody repair these ??

My car was 6 years old and the rear light clusters were failing again. I contacted VW directly at their customer services and got a goodwill gesture on yet another set supplied and fitted by Corkills. Yes I had to put some money towards them but I still managed to get goodwill from VW. I have had the car from new but the original supplying dealer I had no confidence in so have been dealing with Corkills for around 4 years now. Contact VW in Milton Keynes and see what they say. If that fails why not bung a good injector cleaner through the system? as long as it is not an electrical fault it may just clear any blockages if there are any. If they are useless now then you have nothing to lose.

I don't wish to suggest that there has been any jiggery pokery here, but there are stories aplenty of injectors and wiring looms for sale on auction sites that, it is alleged, didn't get fitted under the recall but instead made it to the bottom of a mechanic's toolbox.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to get someone to check model numbers of the existing injectors against those supposed to be replaced and maybe also if there is any identifying info on the loom. Crasher is probably ideal if you are not too far away from his premises.

    Just a thought.
