Hi all just bought a Sharan latest shape highline SE bluemo great spec leds, xenons, 170, dsg, electric heated seats, 17" alloys , cruise control , park assist etc..

But would like to completely remove the second row and third row seats as I need the space not the seats for work..

I can see the bolts etc to remove but my main concern is not setting off the airbag light..(or can this light be permanently disabled via vag com/vcds tool)

Have googled it but no joy..

    Has anyone done this?

I know you could completely remove the seats with the earlier models without removing bolts..

    Off topic ...

Did Looked at getting the short wheel base caravelle £££ but wanted something with a similar interior of my passat estate and a car like feel/drive than a van...

For the spec compared to the caravelle prices the size inside is huge and of course factoring the price with over 50 ish mpg this mpv it ticked all the boxes..

    Cheers all

The second row seats have side airbags so removing the seat would cause the airbag light to come on. You could probably recode the airbag ECM to remove the 2nd row side airbags from it's programming. An alternative to that would be to fit dummy loads into the wiring so it looks to the ECM as if the seats are still there.

    Jim.

    Hi Jim,

    Many thanks for the reply..
I think I will remove the rear third row for now and look into obtaining ECM blanking loads for the middle..
    Many thanks again..
