auto lights feature on 2011 Golf

hi, I have the auto lights feature on my new car and when the lights are on auto I am sure the front fog lights are coming on as well (seems random) also when I pulled onto my drive I could see the reflection in the window and they were definitely on, after reading the manual it does not say anything about the fogs coming on but surely they should only come on in foggy conditions, if anyone else has this feature on their own golf can you elaborate how yours work, thanks

did you see one or both fogs on......do you have cornering lights?

I did see only one light on the drive, the left one and then the right one but I have no idea if it has cornering lights, I thought you wasn't allowed to use your front fogs in normal conditions (remember years ago getting pulled and told to turn the off) so I thought it maybe a fault but I do not know anyone else with a vw with auto lights, thanks

cornering lights - only come on at slow speeds. three people told me I had only one light working until I figured it out.

as above, they're cornering lights and totally normal. will only enable on with dipped beam.

Have look in the options menu and you may find you can turn them off if you don't feel you need or like them.

ah thats what it is, i was told i had only 1 fog
