Two weeks ago my old girl wouldn't start. So I turned the key three times still no luck. I thought it was a flat battery so I called roadside assist. The roadside assist fellow tested the battery and said its perfect in fact had great charge. He told me I must of flooded the engine and he tried and it started. He said if it happens again hold the accelerator flat to the floor and turn the key. Well today she did it again she would not start. I tried to start it twice then I did what the roadside assist guy said and surprise it didn't work. So I waited a few minutes and tried to start her again and she fired up perfect.

Any suggestions or thoughts as to what is wrong with my old girl as it kind of worries me that I will be out at in the middle of no where and she won't start.

By not starting, is the starter motor turning over?

Or is it turning over and not starting?

If its not cranking with the starter, do you hear a buzz or a click when moving key from "on" to "start" position?

I've experienced a 'dead' starter motor from dirty connections around the starter, and a dirty starter solenoid which comes from the ignition barrel and clips into the back of the starter (generally).

I cleaned all this up with wd-40, and contact cleaner sorted my problem.

If you do this and it still doesnt start, I would start looking at ignition switch/starter motor. Depending on cranking non start and non cranking non start info.

Also ignition pick up might be an issue (for the immobiliser). Bit more info please if you can - the more information the better to allow people to help diagnosis

It's turning over but not starting. Its not doing the click click noise thing I've had that on an old car and it's not that.
