    Hi.
Happened quickly and with no warning. I was driving the car, changed gear, no engagement with engine. Pulled into the side, tried all gears with engine running. Nothing, although easy to move gear lever from one gear to another but no traction. 65000 on the clock and in good nick. Bought 3 months ago. Any help please.
    Thanks. Vgaf

    hi
any difference in how the clutch feels, any change in noise when you press the clutch in? Rattles, knocking? Driveshaft bolts still in place?
Can you see the cables moving the selector on the top of the gearbox?, with an assistant obviously.

Hi Rob and thank you for the response. No noises, clutch feels the same. Engine sounds fine. It's just not engaging in any gear although the gear lever is just as easy to move from one gear to another, as before. I have not had chance to look at cables etc as car was towed to a garage, in the dark....and it will be there until tomorrow.

    Ok
Sounds like they'll give you the verdict tomorrow then. Hopefully simple fix
My old man had a drivehaft come loose after a clutch replacement, car wouldnt move same as yours, clutch guy had forgot to tighten bolts up an one of them was found still with his spline tool in it in the bottom tray!

Just replied to say thanks Rob but it disappeared. So, Thank you.
Your thoughts are valuable and led me to think that I wouldn't be able to move the lever into all gear positions if there was a clutch problem and it may well be the cable linkages or similar....ie not the clutch or the gearbox itself....he says hoping!
    Any other ideas welcome please.
I will let you know if I hear from the garage.

OK. Garage service manager said would have to take the gearbox out......something to do with the clutch and flywheel?
Adding a rough quote of £1400! It seems excessive but I don't know about these things. The last Alhambra lasted 16 years without major mishap and was still going strong at 200200 miles when chopped in for this one.
