I don't seem to have much luck with VAG vehicles and washed reservoir bottles. My recently purchased audi is leaking water at a rate of knots from the bottle although seems to stop just before empty but a few squirts quickly brings up the warning signal.

looking from the top down it only looks like two bolts holding it in but not sure of underneath. On my vw sharan I had to remove a wheel arch liner and on the seat Leon it was nigh on impossible to remove easily for my cack handed skills.

dont know if bottle has split or a grommet but seemed to drain pretty quickly. Is it just those two bolts holding it? Is it an easy removal? Looks pretty tight against side panel.

    Thanks

You can access the reservoir by removing the plastic inner wheel arch liner. Could be a split pipe or the rubber grommet where the pump sits. You'll need Torx head bits to remove stainless steel screws that hold liner in place.

Thanks for the reply! Does the bottle exit through here if need to remove or lift out from bonnet?

On the B6 as well as the grommet and pipe issues mentioned above there is a strong chance that the plastic pump will have split. The pump(S) have a bad habit of splitting, due to freezing? I've done a couple of these, both times the pumps were found to be spilt. Easy enough to get the washer bottle out through the wheel arch once the arch liners removed to gain access to the pumps.

Models with headlamp washers have two pumps fitted, one is mounted lower than the other. From memory (I bet I get this wrong!) The lower pump operates the headlamp washer whilst the upper pump is for the windscreen washers. If in doubt I'd be tempted to replace both if two are fitted, it saves doing the job all over again, at a later date.

    Hope this helps.

Cheers yeah I have got the headlight washers too. Last time I replaced a pump on ebay failed within a month or so so I think will get genuine part this time of that has failed also.

Stick with OEM all the way. Fleabay washer pumps are cheap for a reason. They're nasty! Fair enough, they might last a year or so, then again they might not.

You know the old saying. Buy cheap, buy twice!
